Writer's Guidelines

GENERAL FOCUS: Elijah Press publishes quality religious/spiritual fiction and non-fiction books and tapes on and related to Christian living, church history and spiritual reflection. We will publish 3 to 5 books a year, ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 words in length.

HOW TO SUBMIT: Please begin the submission process by sending a query letter describing your book. The query letter should be one page, basically three paragraphs indicating:

. A brief description of the book

. Target market of the work

. A brief description of the author's experience

(i.e. first book, other publications)

Accompanying the query letter should be a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE). If no SASE is included, no reply will sent. If we are interested in reading the manuscript, we will reply and request to see the manuscript. We reply to query letters in two weeks.

Unpublished writers are encouraged to send queries. However, the manuscript must be complete to be considered.

Submit typed manuscripts, double-spaced on 8-1/2X11 white bond paper, one side only. Only typewriter-style fonts, such as Courier, should be used. Erasable paper is not acceptable. We prefer legible photocopies (always keep copies of manuscripts submitted for publication). We will only accept letter quality printed manuscripts. Submissions must include your name, address, daytime telephone number as well as a SASE. We reply within one month of receiving a manuscript.
